Kanthaswamy is a pucca commercial mass masala that comes in a very apt time to entertain the people.

The film opens with scenes which showing the poor people praying in a Murugan Temple at the outskirts of Chennai. They simply sending their prayers to Kanthaswamy, another name of Tamil Lord Muruga who in the temple, through a letter and tie it in a tree (known as petition tree) in front of the temple. After few minutes, our Kanthaswamy (also the name of our hero Vikram) collects the letters and helps them according to their needs.

After few incidents Kanthaswamy becomes the local god for the prople. His Robinhood style of helping poor woes lot of petitions ans attentions of police. The local DIG of Police (Prabhu) suspects that there is something unnatural about it and starts investigating.

Meanwhile, our hero has the other face as a strict, powerful and intelligent CBI officer Kanthaswamy! He is on a mission to uncover black money and illegal wealth of rich and corrupt Indians stashed in foreign banks, which he believes is responsible for all the crime in our society.

Soon he clashes with Pallur Paramajyoti Ponnusamy (Ashish Vidyarti), the man with a golden tooth and greedy heart. Kanthaswamy conducts a raid in his palatial bungalow and finds unaccounted cash and documents of various foreign deals worth over Rs 1000 crore!

Ashish Vidyarthy is devastated after the raid and his only daughter Subbalakshmi (Shriya Saran) swears revenge and pretends to fall in love with Kanthaswamy.

At a stage, situation exposed that both the Kanthaswamies are the same. But a senior official in CBI protecting Kandasamy in this critical situation.

What makes Kandasamy to do all these Robinhood activities? Why this senior officer protecting him? Will the DIG succeed in proving that Kandasamy is no God? See the answer for all these interesting questions in the Silver Screen!

Though the story is looks like a mixture of Anniyan and Sivaji - The Boss, Susi Ganesan succeeds in providing a 3.15 minutes roller coaster entertaiment with all needy ingredients. The intro scene of the hero is outstanding. The Mexican portion is stunning. And technically this film another milestone in Tamil cinema.

On negative side, the director must reconsider the length of the film. The scenes involve with villains are little bit boring.

Vikram rocks as a CBI officer Kandasamy and as a local Robinhood. He has given a new dimension to the characters he plays in the film and steers it to the winning post. Particularly, his appearance with a rooster head and differnt costume steals the show. The highlight is Kandasamy dressed as a woman (like Aishwarya Rai) and teaching Charly and Mayilsamy a fitting lesson is hilarious.

Shriya did her role with ease and professional touch. Prabhu fits well in the role of investigative cop.

Once again Vadivelu rocks in the role as Thenkakadi Thenappan. The ace actor is a major plus point for this magnum opus.

Devi Stri Prasad’s music and NK Ekambaram’s high class camera work make the film to a new standard of entertainemt.

At the end, producer Thanu tastes a huge success after the series of debacles. It is more important than anything.. Because it will boosting his interests to make more magnum opuses!
